No-Knead Bread

I owe you all a wedding update! We are getting so close, you guys: we have less than 2 months to go (eeeek!). Since all of our major details have been in place for months, the last few weeks have been about finalizing the little things. Our invites went out earlier this week, and I cannot wait to start getting RSVPs back. Between organizing the rehearsal dinner, figuring out a day-of timeline, buying accessories, and still planning our honeymoon, I’ve been thinking about wedding details nonstop. It’s been a lot of fun, though!

Broccoli Slaw

I know I’ve talked about this before, but I have a weird habit of craving things I’ve never tried. It happened the first time I tried avocado toast, and it happened with this broccoli slaw. I first read about it years ago on Smitten Kitchen, where Deb absolutely RAVED about it. Broccoli and I are not friends, so I relegated it to being one of those recipes I would never try and moved on. But Deb (who just had her second baby!!) swears her pregnant self can’t get enough of it, so has been singing its praises again on social media all summer. And suddenly, I began to crave it too. No, this isn’t a way for me to tell you I’m pregnant, just that I found myself agreeing with this crazy lady. Maybe broccoli, shaved finely and tossed with some awesome add-ins, could actually be delicious.

Cherry Almond Crumble

Ahhh summer. Despite still having to work every day, I can’t help but get caught up in the allure of warm days, long nights, and gorgeous summer produce everywhere I turn. Sometimes, when I least expect it, four pounds of stunning sweet cherries find themselves in my grocery cart, and even a self-proclaimed cherry addict like myself can’t eat them all straight before they go bad. Picture the scene: my kitchen, last week. Every time I open the fridge, two pounds of cherries stare me down, begging to be used. And so this cherry almond crumble was born out the best kind of necessity.

My Favorite Granola

Sometimes, even when I have a recipe written and photos edited, the words to form a post just won’t come to me. I made this granola weeks ago–it’s long since been devoured–but I haven’t known what to say to encourage you to make it. I suppose it’s a product of my own making. There are so many things I want to dedicate my time to, and with planning the wedding and playing sports so many nights a week, blogging has fallen by the wayside. Big plans are being made for the future while so many todays pass in the blink of an eye. I don’t want it to be that way, because I love creating and sharing in this space. Now I just need to figure out where I go next. How do I push through when nothing I write seems particularly Earth-shattering?

Shrimp and Pesto Pasta

Hi friends! Sorry for the radio silence around here the last few weeks. Life has just gotten away from me, you know? We’ve been filling our nights and weekends with all things summer, and despite the rain (whyyy, St. Louis, why all the rain?), we’ve managed to find ourselves on more than one patio, drinks in hand and good friends by our sides. It’s been so hard to bring myself to cook or bake something worthy of sharing with you when all I want to do is get out of the kitchen as soon as possible. I’m working hard on starting to find a groove again, so hopefully things will get a little closer to normal on the blog.
