Chocolate Truffle Tart

One of the best things about baking is sharing the finished product with the people that I love. Even cooler is when those people approach me and request something special. This chocolate truffle tart is just that–my aunt asked if I would make a tart for a silent auction being held to raise funds for one of her coworkers. I immediately said yes and got to brainstorming. I went through a lot of seriously far-out-there ideas before I landed on this (relatively simple) one. A chocolate truffle tart is exactly as it sounds: the filling of a chocolate truffle poured into a tart shell rather than rolled and dipped in more chocolate. It’s a classy, elegant way to dress up a classic candy.

Veggie Pizza

I’m back with yet another appetizer that would be perfect for celebrating the big game! This veggie pizza is a long-time family favorite that I’ve only recently begun to enjoy–and I’ve been majorly missing out. I posted this photo on Instagram and confessed that I actually jumped up and down with excitement after pulling these guys out of the oven. Maybe it’s the gorgeously browned tops or maybe it’s the fact that I associate soft pretzels with sunshine and baseball games (and shopping at the mall with my mom), but whatever it was, these little beauties made me smile.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

After publishing 5 cookie recipes in 5 days for Cookie Week back in December, I told myself I was going to lay off the cookies for a while. And yet here we are, barely a month later, and I’m already sharing another cookie recipe. I just can;t help myself. Barely a week goes by when I don’t make cookies in one form or another. But really, you need this chocolate chip cookie recipe, for real. Any respectable home baker needs to have a recipe for classic chocolate chip cookies in his or her back pocket, and after lots of cookie eating recipe testing, I’ve finally found my favorite, so I needed to share it with you.
